Qualifiers, State Reps, and more!

Greetings from Central Oregon! While the state’s largest ski area, Mt. Bachelor, has had its earliest opening in 26 years, things are heating up in the gym. Basketball tryouts are winding down and 2025 State Qualifiers are tipping off. Read on for a list of qualifying events, meet your State Reps, and more!

Meet your State Reps!

State Reps are your local connection between Qualifier Tournaments and the State Championship. You'll spot them wearing bright orange shirts at tournaments throughout the season, awarding qualifying teams with their Gold Ticket invitation to State, and answering questions from parents. 

Kevin Parks - Portland, OR

Originally from Kansas City, Kevin began CYO basketball at age 5, got his first pair of Jordans (7s) at 10, and has slept at THE basketball Mecca — Allen Fieldhouse — on numerous occasions...

 

Laura DuPont - Rouge River, OR

Originally from New York, but grew up on the coast of Oregon, Laura has also spent time in Sonoma, CA where she met her husband of 37 years now. She has a degree in Hospitality and has worked in the field for over 20 years...

 

Alicia Scoggin - Fairview, OR

Alicia is a native to Portland, Oregon. She grew up playing basketball and attended many camps and clinics with Professional NBA athletes. Her favorites were Clyde Drexler, Larry Steele and Kareem Abdul Jabar. If you ask Alicia who the greatest of all time is? She will without hesitation tell you Michael Jordan...

 

Kristen Cutting - Grants Pass, OR

Kristen will begin working towards her nursing degree in the fall of 2025! She has always loved the game of basketball and spent a few years playing as well as working and volunteering at games. She loves the intensity of the game. Outside of her position as a State Rep, she is a certified medical assistant specializing and working with an ankle surgeon in the field of Orthopedics...

Do you have a passion for youth sports with strong communication, media, and marketing skills? Join us as a State Rep - Basketball Communication Specialist, where your key responsibilities will include communicating with teams and coaches in the gym, traveling to basketball tournaments around the areas listed below, collecting qualifying team contact info for our state-wide event, capturing team photos, and enhancing our online presence through social media.
