After four seasons in Sioux City, our State Executive Committee is excited to announce that we’ve moved to Iowa City! There, we’ve secured twelve regulation hardwood courts, including eight courts under one roof at the University of Iowa Field House. Traveling families will now enjoy the vibe of one of the top college towns in America while their young athletes compete in the heart of campus*.
Formerly known as the "Heartland States Basketball Championship", The Iowa Middle School Basketball Championship features the top squads from all corners of Iowa. Teams from Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota are also eligible to compete in Iowa City and should complete an At Large Application to qualify for entry.
* NCAA rules prohibit 7th and 8th grade boys from competing on a D-1 campus. As a result, those teams will play at Iowa City West High School.
