2021-22 State Tourney Reps - Missouri

Missouri State Reps attend official State Qualifier tournaments to award Golden Ticket invites to the top two finishing teams at each grade and to answer any questions from coaches and families.  Please say "hello" when you see them!

Woody Greene
Woody lives in North Kansas City MO but was born and raised in Flint, MI.  This Michigan State graduate has watched a lot of quality basketball play.  He has collaborated with the James Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, Springfield MA, on projects that explored careers in sports and sportsmanship awareness.  Woody created/taught, Community Service Learning for Sport Managers at both UMass, Amherst MA and St John Fisher College in Rochester NY, in their Sports Studies Department.  He has also managed basketball leagues, organized an athletic testing combine and coached various youth sports teams.  His favorite activities include conducting parent/child sportsmanship charter building workshops for YMCA programs, youth sports leagues and middle school classrooms.

Secah Shahib
Originally from Denver, Colorado, Secah currently resides in Kansas City alongside an amazing life partner, three beautiful children, and two grandchildren. Secah is the proud parent of a sixteen-year-old basketball player, (named “Kobe” in honor of his favorite LA Laker,) and has coached and officiated for numerous youth basketball teams and leagues. A basketball fan through and through, Secah supports teams at every level, from youth to pro, and names Phil Jackson and Mike Kryzewski as his favorite coaches of all time. Outside of his many basketball engagements, Secah is the Founder and Golf Coach at “From the Green to the Tee Golf Academy,” which provides young people with physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual development through the game of golf.

Antonio Sykes
Antonio grew up in Portageville Missouri, where he was an elite basketball player winning 3 state titles. In 2001 he graduated from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri with a BS in Recreation Administration.  He was an All-America, All conference basketball player for the CMU Running Eagles basketball team.  From there, Antonio went on to play Professional Basketball, and coached many teams in the Central Missouri area at the college, high school, and youth/AAU levels. Currently, Antonio resides in Columbia, MO and works for University of Missouri.  He's looking forward to getting more involved with the State Basketball community.

Claire Engel
Claire was a standout high school basketball player and former member of the Central Methodist University Women’s Reserve team. She is currently a Physical Education major at Missouri State University, and is working towards her NASM Personal Training Certification. Claire aspires to be a high school girls basketball coach one day so that she can share her passion for the game with other young women.

Aleeya Colette Heussner
Aleeya was raised in Hale, Missouri, and graduated from Tina-Avalon High School in 2018. She received her Associates degree from North Central Missouri College last year and is currently studying at the University of Missouri. A basketball player since the age of 8,  Aleeya still channels her love for the game as a member of the Club Basketball Team at Mizzou.  

Darris Smith  
Darris is a resident of Saint Charles, MO and works as a Financial Advisor at Executive Financial Group. Raised in Hazelwood, he was the all-time leading scorer and all-time leader in 3-pointers at Hazelwood West High School. He continued his basketball career at Lindenwood University and is a member of the school’s 1,000 Point Club. Nowadays, Darris channels his love for the game by coaching youth teams and providing skills training to local athletes.

Girard Johnson
Girard resides in Columbia, MO, where he and his fiancée run a youth basketball program. During the day Girard works as a Senior Mortgage Banker. He was the captain of his high school basketball team and earned all-state honors two years in a row. He has coached at many levels and won a State Championship in Michigan. Girard also officiates basketball at all levels. It’s safe to say Ball Is Life for his family. 

Dale McLin
Dale was born in Cleveland Heights, Ohio and moved to St. Louis before he started high school. He attended Lutheran North his first two years of high school and then transferred to Parkway North High School for his last two years of high school.  Dale played basketball nearly all of his life.  He played AAU basketball for the Ohio Basketball Club for two years while in middle school and won a national championship in the Lutheran Basketball Association of America during his 8th grade year.  Dale played JV as a freshman in high school and varsity his last three years of high school.  After high school, Dale graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 2017 with a bachelor of science in sports management. While at UCM, Dale participated in intramural basketball for four years and he also has referee experience in intramural basketball during his internship at the YMCA.  Dale coached basketball at Parkway North High School for two years as the Head JV and Assistant Varsity coach for the boys team. He is currently a substitute teacher at the middle and high school level, is a player development trainer and has his own DJ business.  Outside of work, Dale enjoys playing and watching basketball, DJing, and attending concerts and music festivals. A fun fact about Dale is that he grew up with MetroBoomin, who is a multi-platinum producer in Hip-Hop and R&B and Travis Kelce who now plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. 

Marcus Patrick
Marcus grew up in a single parent household with a younger brother in Kansas City, Missouri. He is currently a senior at Missouri State University studying Communications with a minor in Mass Media. Marcus started playing basketball from an early age up until high school. He then went on to play recreational basketball and intramural basketball. He also has experience refereeing, score keeping and assistant coaching. His hobbies include homework, working out, watching Shark Tank, discovering new music and increasing his social media presence as a digital artist. A fun fact about Marcus is the passion he has for wellness and mindfulness. He is a firm believer that health is wealth. 

Beau Baker 
Beau has lived in Kansas City, Missouri since he was five years old. He attended Staley High School and received his bachelor's degree in Convergent Journalism from Missouri Western State University in May 2020. Beau started playing basketball in the third grade and hasn't stopped playing since. In high school he was a 1,000 point scorer and played basketball for four years a MWSU. Beau is currently a Case Investigator for the Johnson County Health Department. Outside of basketball Beau also enjoys watching and playing football. A fun fact about Beau is that when he was in high school his mom had a rule that he was only allowed two Bs on his report card, and those were the ones in his name, so he graduated high school with a 4.11 GPA! 

Kyle Walton 
Kyle went to high school in Minnesota and attended college at North Dakota State University. He majored in teaching and played basketball, baseball and soccer throughout his whole life. Kyle played basketball in high school and community college, has experience refereeing and also coached freshman basketball for two years. Outside of basketball, Kyle works as a client success analyst for a data science called Shifted. He enjoy everything sports and still loves playing and watching. Kyle loves to cook and goes to as many concerts as he can. 

Steven Duong
Steven attended Saint John The Baptist elementary, TGCA High School and is currently a senior at UMSL. Steven's experience with basketball includes playing from a young age in elementary school and all throughout middle school. In high school, he was on the varsity team and played the point guard position.  His hobbies include photography and videography, sketching, hanging out with his girlfriend and friends and his dog, Luna, is like his child. He is also a signed model with West Model Management, goes to school full-time and enjoys cooking and trying new foods.  A fun fact about Steven is that he just might be the biggest BTS fan. Some people might be ashamed to say they like a boy band, but he doesn't see it as anything to hide! 

Brandon Winder
Brandon is from Farmington, MO where he graduated high school and went on to play baseball at Mineral Area College but had to make the tough choice to move on after tearing his labrum. He is now a senior at Missouri State University studying Sports Administration and will graduate in August 2022. Brandon played basketball from 5th grade until his sophomore year of high school. He also spent a season refereeing youth basketball with The City of Farmington. Outside of his role as a State Rep, he is a full time college student and works at Ballparks of America in Branson, MO as an operations supervisor. Brandon's favorite hobby is golf, although he will play just about any sport.

Biruk Amare 
Biruk was born in Edmond, Oklahoma and raised in Kansas City, MO where he graduated from North Kansas City High School. After high school, Biruk attended Langston University in Oklahoma and earned a bachelors degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation in May of 2021. He grew up playing basketball up until high school and was a manager for the girls basketball team for three years. He also worked for Game Operations at Langston University in the Athletic Department, assisting with both men's and women's basketball. Outside of his role as a State Rep, Biruk is a Site Director for Perfect Game. He enjoys watching anime, being outdoors, playing pickup or spikeball, watching sports and spending time with friends and family. 

Justin Bailey 
Justin was born in Illinois and raised in Alabama and Arkansas and is an Arkansas College graduate. Justin participated in football through college and was inspired by his mother's basketball history, who played for the University of Alabama. Justin always felt that he was at home when he was around basketball. Justin's hobbies include playing video games, drawing and making instrumentals. 


State tournament generously supported by
