Dylan is a Denver native and lifelong basketball enthusiast. Having spent his childhood playing basketball along with every other sport, he has a love for youth sports and sees competition and sportsmanship as a way of life. Dylan is a certified Personal Trainer: Performance Enhancement Specialist and works directly with athletes in the Denver area.
Dorian has basketball running through his veins. Born in Junction City, Kansas, his father was a former college basketball player at Kansas State University. Dorian was a standout student athlete at Harrison High School, where was appointed to the National Honor Society, named The Gazette 4A player of the year, and nominated as a McDonalds All-American. He continued his career at Sheridan College, where he helped his team win the Region 9 Championship and received a nomination to the National Junior College All-American team. Dorian enjoys learning new things every day, and lives by the mantra that Knowledge is Power. He is a graduate of the Southeast Grow Your Own: Community Advocate Program, and spends his free time hiking in the Rocky Mountains.
McKinzie was born in Dallas, Texas, but currently resides in Denver. She grew up playing a multitude of sports, including basketball. In high school, she helped lead her varsity basketball team to a Texas State Championship. She received a degree in Broadcast and Sports Media from Oklahoma State University, and subsequently spent six years working in TV production. She currently works as a coach and mentor to young athletes and is excited to get involved in the Colorado State Basketball Championship community.
Louis recently moved back to Denver, Colorado after spending the last 7 years in Phoenix, Arizona working in the front office of the Phoenix Suns and Northern Arizona Suns. Growing up in Tucson, Arizona he played many sports but basketball has always been his passion. He attended the University of Colorado-Boulder where he was a Student Manager for the Men’s Basketball team. He majored in Business Management and earned a certificate in the Business of Sports. In his free time he enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with his dog Ralphie, collecting sneakers, and watching as many basketball games as possible. He is a true Hoops Head!
Jaxon grew up in Johnstown, a small town in Northern Colorado where his family runs a farm. He attends Aims Community College and plans on transferring to UNC in the future to finish his Bachelor’s degree. He played basketball through high school and continues to participate as a mega-fan of the sport. Outside of his State Rep activities, you can find him playing, watching, or reading about basketball. He is also a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels.
Born and raised in Colorado, Sam went to South High School and graduated from Metro State University with a degree in Business Management. He has been a basketball fanatic since he started playing at age eight, and was known to shirk duties at his family restaurant to sneak out and shoot hoops. Currently, Sam works for an engineering company as the Supply Chain Group Manager and coaches his 12-year old nephew’s basketball team.
A native of Spartanburg, SC, Dean was raised a DIEHARD Tarheels basketball fan (hence the name “DEAN;” his father’s favorite coach of all time.) He played college basketball at the University of South Carolina Upstate as a Swing Guard coached by Eddie Payne from 2005-2007. In his first season, the Spartans won the PBC tournament to advance to the national tournament. Throughout his basketball career, Dean played with and/or against a plethora of NBA standouts including Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Anthony Morrow, Trevor Booker, and Charleston Long. In 2011, Dean obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology and served as Assistant Coach of the 9th grade boys team at James. F. Byrnes Academy, where they finished first in the region with only one loss on the year. Now residing in Cascade, CO, he is a loving husband and proud father to two girls, aged three and one. Dean’s motto in sports and in life is, “Play together, play hard, and play smart.”
Nik grew up in Northern Virginia where he was a standout high school basketball player winning co-MVP, First Team All-Conference, First Team All-State and Third Team All-DC Metro. His hard work and dedication earned him a basketball scholarship at Longwood University where he started as point guard and was named Crons Brand Freshman of the Week for the Big South Conference. He later transferred to University Of North Carolina at Greensboro, but was unfortunately sidelined by an injury. Nowadays, Nik’s shares his passion for basketball through coaching and helping to develop players into better athletes and better people. He runs a company called More Than a Game that provides basketball training to individuals and teams. He also offers recruiting services and mentorship to athletes seeking to play at the college level.
